Freshwater angling
Here there is great diversity in the type of waters and in
the fish that inhabit them too. The Rhône and the Durance, the Verdon and the
Ubaye, the mountain streams, and the many lakes and reservoirs offer a wide
range of possibilities across the entire region : brown and rainbow trout in
the mountain lakes, pike in the Lower Durance, coarse fish (bleak, roach,
tench, carp...) in the Verdon lakes, zander or sheatfish in the Rhône, etc.

On the Mediterranean coast, anglers can either fish from the
shore or in a boat. Along the coast, there is an abundance of mullet, sea
bream, wolf fish and flatfish. Certain resorts have developed a "big game
fishing" activity. This is the case of Martigues, Sanary and Le Lavandou where
anglers can take to the sea in search of tuna.
